Day 5 · Understanding Linear Equations in One Variable

Today let's get to know linear equations in one variable!

One step at a time

Let's explore today's lesson

3 learning moments

A linear equation in one variable is a mathematical statement with an equals sign, containing just one variable raised to the power 1! For example, 2x + 3 = 11.

The solution to an equation is the value of the variable that makes it true! If x = 4, then 2(4) + 3 = 11 is true, so x = 4 is the solution.

Activity: Check whether x = 5 is the solution to the equation 3x - 2 = 13.

Practice and save your progress

Great work—keep the momentum going!
