Day 3 · Laws of Exponents for Real Numbers

Today let's learn the laws of exponents!

One step at a time

Let's explore today's lesson

4 learning moments

Law for multiplying powers with the same base: a^m x a^n = a^(m+n). For example, 2³ x 2² = 2⁵ = 32.

Law for dividing powers with the same base: a^m / a^n = a^(m-n). For example, 2⁵ / 2² = 2³ = 8.

Law for a power raised to another power: (a^m)^n = a^(mn). For example, (2²)³ = 2⁶ = 64.

Activity: Try calculating 3² x 3³ and 5⁴ / 5².

Practice and save your progress

Great work—keep the momentum going!
